AirAsia is in talks with Dubai officials to launch flights to the United Arab Emirates from Southeast Asia.
The low-cost airline’s Group CEO Tony Fernandes was in Dubai to talk to officials about flying Airbus Group NV A330 jets into one of the emirate’s two airports, Dubai International or Al Maktoum International.
Tony plans to add Dubai to the current hubs in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
“I could bring a lot of Asians to Dubai,” Fernandes said talking to a reporter. “Dubai is building the largest airport in the world and it can’t just be for Emirates Airline, Flydubai,” he added further.
