In the presence of His Excellency Italian Ambassador G. Starace and Consul General G. Favilli, the fourth stage of ROAD SHOW ROAD TO EXPO – following New York, Moscow and Paris – was held at Alta Badia, the Italian restaurant located in the Emirates Towers Hotel.
Opening the press conference, ICE Dubai Director Mr. Fiore, and Italian ambassador Giorgio Starace. “We are building a bridge between Italy and UAE – declared Mr Starace – and the three main pillars are the agreement between the two Expos, the vocation of Italy to become the hub to UAE and the visit of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi which was the synthesis of the growth of the relations between our two countries”.
Ms. Loredana Sarti, Secretary-General of AEFI (Italian Exhibition and Trade-Fair Association), and Mr. Alberto Mina, International Relations Director of the Italian Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015, showcased the distinguishing features of the Italian agro-industrial and trade-fair sector, specifically of the Italian Pavilion, which represents a perfect synthesis of the various regional industries. “We are here to create connections between our Countries – said Ms. Sarti – 50% of Italian export rely on trade fairs, 60 Billion Euros of deals are sealed every year during trade fairs and 75% of SME consider trade fairs as their main marketing instrument”.
The Road to Expo 2015 project is a promotional campaign supported by the Ministry of Economic Development, with a plan of dedicated actions conceived and implemented by ICE AGENZIA and AEFI in association with the Italian Pavilion at EXPO MILANO 2015. Worldwide businessmen and journalists selection visiting the main Italian trade shows during this year and 2015. Businessmen coming from abroad visiting Milano Expo and Italian industrial clusters between May and October.
“The Italian Pavillion is a nursery where ideas grow up, a place for thinking” stated Mr Mina.
ROAD TO EXPO aims to support both EXPO MILANO 2015 and the promotion of the Italian trade-fair system as a whole, promoting in particular the production and technology of the food industry.
Among the range of actions, special mention must be made of the participation in international trade fairs, press conferences abroad, buyer missions and foreign journalists in Italy to visit theme exhibitions.
According to estimates, Expo Milano 2015 will host over 20 million visitors during its six months of events, focusing on the universal theme of “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.
AEFI represents and promotes in Italy and abroad the entire Italian trade-fair system, which counts about 1,000 annual events drawing an average of 200,000 exhibitors and 22 million visitors.
The offices of the foreign network of ICE Agenzia are responsible for the organization of foreign-based and incoming promotional events in Italy.
