Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD), affirmed the importance of promotional campaigns in increasing awareness about tourist and cultural services and products in Ajman and enhancing the image of Ajman regionally and internationally.

ATDD’s planned participation in a number of international tourism exhibitions every year supports efforts to achieve Ajman Government’s strategic goals, he said, at a meeting with ATDD Tourism Development and Marketing team, with ATDD General Manager Faisal Al Nuaimi and hotel managers attending.

According to Ajman Vision 2021, ATDD has to achieve a number of goals, on top of which is enhancing the image of Ajman as a distinguished tourism destination, Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid clarified, noting that he follows up the results of each ATDD activity abroad, in addition to the monthly and quarterly tourism statistic results.

During the meeting, ATDD chairman was updated on the tourism promotion plan for 2015, and preparations for ATDD’s participation in ITB Berlin, to be held in the German capital on March 4-8.

For his part, ATDD general manager said the department takes part in the event for the third consecutive year to focus on Ajman’s quality services, especially in the hospitality sector.

Statistics showed that the number of European visitors to Ajman in 2014 was 100,000, and that 30,000 of them were German citizens, Faisal Al Nuaimi underlined.

The ATDD team will launch a number of projects during ITB Berlin and offer services at their booth both in English and German, he added.

During the meeting, attendees discussed a number of creative promotion ideas, based on experiences in the UAE and abroad, with the aim of enhancing competitiveness of tourism sectors in Ajman.

On their part, hotel managers raised a number of issues, including the importance of targeting new markets, especially in China, India, Turkey, Central Europe and Latin American countries, offering more tourism opportunities for youths, and activating cooperation with many embassies in the UAE to lure more tourists to Ajman.
