Hot on the heels of Milan, Paris and New York, Dublin is emerging as a must visit luxury shopping destination for the GCC market. With designer brands in abundance and the latest collections available straight from the catwalk, this majestic city is a haven for the fashion minded. From an array of high-end boutiques, various vintage shops for one off pieces and highly coveted department stores such as Brown Thomas – part of the Selfridges group – there is plenty of choice to suit all tastes and budgets.

Visitors from the GCC region will be able to enjoy considerable savings when choosing items from their favourite brands thanks to the 20 per cent VAT saving they make. With double daily flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Dublin with Emirates and Etihad, accessibility is convenient and frequent, making it an ideal summer shopping break.

The capital city of Ireland is also home to two smart shopping malls; The Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, a stylish sanctuary in an 18th century town house and the more intimate Westbury Mall, a boutique space which is a stone’s throw from the Westbury Hotel. Arnotts, Ireland’s oldest and largest department store prides itself on its Love Irish Design collection; a collection of local items including art, fashion, jewellery and homewares, all of which have all been designed and crafted in Ireland. They also offer their clients complimentary shipping and delivery*, tax free refunds in store and a personal shopping service.

Luxury department store Brown Thomas boasts a prime setting on Grafton Street, and is especially keen on welcoming guests from the GCC. They offer a personal shopping service for both men and women with six personal shoppers per department, including two Arabic speakers. They recently underwent a 12 million Euro refurbishment on their ground floor and have teamed up with luxury hotel, The Merrion, to offer a unique ‘Shop In Style’ package.

This dedicated package includes two nights in a luxurious double room in The Garden Wing at The Merrion, inclusive of breakfast and a €75 gift card for Brown Thomas where guests can enjoy expert advice from both fashion and beauty personal shoppers.  There is also a convenient shopping delivery service back to the hotel.  This package is €550 per room, per night.

Whether visitors want to stock up on vintage jewellery and find one-of-a-kind antiques, or invest in their favourite statement handbag, this historic city is fast becoming a shoppers paradise.
