A jewel amidst the endless sandscape, Al Waha, Banyan Tree Al Wadi’s authentic modern Arabic restaurant has a fresh new look under the guidance of recently appointed Chef de Cuisine, Chef Tamer Alnoty, offering guests exquisite cuisine ranging from Jordan to North Africa plus selected international dishes in a sublime desert setting. Guests dining at Al Waha, meaning oasis in Arabic, can now choose from sensational Arabic and international à la carte menus, providing discerning palates with a host of authentic specialties, including grilled delights, steaks and spit-roasted savouries.

Having previously worked at a number of reputable five-star hotels and resorts across the UAE, including Ajman Saray Hotel, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara and The St. Regis Hotel Saadiyat Island, to name a few, Chef Tamer brings with him a wealth of experience to oversee Al Waha, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience for guests. Chef Tamer’s passion for food began at a young age when he used to cook with his mother, experimenting with different herbs and spices in the kitchen before turning his talent into a career. With over 10 years of experience in the Middle East, he has always focused on maximising flavours and ensuring his signature style and flair is apparent in everything he creates, and as a result, he has been recongnised with a number of accolades such as the BBC Good Food ME Awards and Time Out Awards.

Crafted to embrace the modern Middle Eastern flavours, guests at Al Waha who are after a slice of Arabesque will relish in the vast selection of Arabic inspired choices that Chef Tamer has brought to the table. From Baba Ghanouj, Hummus and Jazar Chermoula to Lamb Tagine, Kibbeh bi Laban and Ouzi bil Lahem as well as a selection of mixed grills and scrumptious desserts, Al Waha’s new menu offers beautifully authentic food amidst stunning surroundings.  From the Middle East, the cuisine moves west, where Chef Tamer has drawn on influences from Greece, Italy, Asia and beyond.  Guests can start with the Tempura Fried Rock Shrimps or Coeur de Salmon Fumé before moving onto a choice of pastas, sandwiches, steak and freshly caught seafood, finishing with a choice of classic desserts.

Guests can also enjoy Al Waha’s new tantalising two-course lunch menu, the perfect pit stop to escape the midday sun. Available everyday from 12.30pm to 3.30pm for only AED 110, they can indulge in Chef Tamer’s favourites from decadent starters to the dish of the day, ending with a tempting desert.

With its stylish décor touched with the best of Arab architecture, Al Waha provides diners with the perfect position from which to admire the rolling sand dunes whilst enjoying a truly sensational dining experience.
