As the Khareef season approaches in Salalah, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara will soon open its doors, bringing a new level of luxury to the region. With a commitment to supporting Omanisation, the resort recently arranged for Omani team members to receive cross-training at Anantara resorts in Thailand and across the UAE. Junior team members embarked on a month-long initiative, allowing them to gain an in-depth understanding of Anantara’s brand values as well as the opportunity to learn the art of hospitality, whilst the senior leadership team enjoyed a week-long cross training experience.
The resort’s Resident Manager, Abdullah Al-Hinai was introduced to the vast hotel operations of three Anantara properties in the UAE; Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara and Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in the Liwa Desert, both in Abu Dhabi. Abdullah commented; “It was fantastic to experience three amazing Anantara properties and live the Anantara journey. I am very proud to be part of the team introducing Anantara to Oman and look forward to a successful launch.”
Fatma Al Sinawi, the resort’s Human Resources Director had the opportunity to visit Bangkok in Thailand where she worked alongside the Corporate Human Resources department to gain an understanding of their best practices. Fatma commented; “It was great to spend time with Anantara corportate HR professionals and understand how the processes work. I was honoured to represent Oman and I’m excited to implement Anantara’s people-oriented philosophy to Al Baleed Resort Salalah.”
Rasheed Bait Mustahel, works closely with Human Resources Director as Assistant Human Resources Manager and joins the resort with a strong background and industry expertise. His cross-training journey began at Qasr al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in Abu Dhabi where he had the opportunity to work with their Human Resources teams to learn about the daily process, systems and procedures.
Rasin Al-Jabli has been appointed as the Chief of Security, bringing with him a wealth of experience having worked with the Royal Guards of Oman for many years. Rasin had the opportunity to work with the Director of Security at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort to follow how he coordinates and implements security and safety within a resort environment. Rasin commented; “I am delighted to join the Anantara team. I was proud to represent the resort and my country whilst in Dubai and I am eager to implement everything I learnt to Al Baleed Resort Salalah.”

It is very important that our team gains exposure to the other Anantara properties so they become immersed into the company’s brand values, ethos and best practices. We hope to inspire other Omani nationals to join the hospitality industry and see it as a viable career option, particularly as we move closer to opening two new resorts in the Sultanate of Oman.”
