Huib Hendrix has been appointed by Ramada Plaza Jumeirah Beach as the new Director of Food and Beverage.  In his role, Huib will provide strategic leadership and execution for the hotel’s food and beverage concepts, which includes Fogueira Restaurant, Speakeasy Bar and Restaurant, Sama Lounge, The Lounge and the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, Shores Restaurant. He will guide the hotel’s remarkable culinary programs, centered on taste, variety and guest satisfaction.

Huib has a background devoted to the hospitality realm, earning his Bachelor degree in International Hospitality Management from Stenden University, Netherlands in 2009. Whilst achieving his propaedeutic study, he worked as a theme editor for Hospitality Delighted, Stenden University’s quarterly magazine which gives insight in the world of hospitality and its trends. A year later, he became the Chief Editor of the same publication in 2007.

Building his background in the F&B department for nearly a decade, Huib sharpened his skills at notable hotel chains, working most of his career outside of his home country.  The Dutch national started his profession in China as an F&B Management Trainee where he was part of the pre-opening team of the Aloft and Fourpoints by Sheraton, Beijing Haidian. Following the success of the opening of the first Aloft outside of Northern America, Huib was assigned to do the opening of Aloft Abu Dhabi, the first Aloft property in the EAME division.

In 2013, he became the F&B Manager of Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates Hotel. Prior to joining Ramada Plaza Jumeirah Beach, Huib served as F&B Manager at Dubai Marina Yacht Club, part of the EMAAR Hospitality Group.  During his two year stint, Huib managed three F&B outlets, three meeting and conference venues, a charter yacht and outside catering.

Huib also enrolled in internationally acclaimed courses that allowed him to solidify his stance as Director of Food & Beverage, earning certificates and licenses from Six Sigma, Covey, and the F&B Academy.
